Why a Zagreb Agency Chose a Partner in BiH

Smart Tourism 5.0 was a regional online conference organised by Julius Rose d.o.o. from Zagreb. The programme explored tourism after the pandemic and brought together tourism professionals from across south-east Europe.

The organisers needed a local partner in Bosnia and Herzegovina to put together the BiH segment of the programme. They needed someone who could source credible speakers, moderate a professional panel and handle all logistics on the ground. They chose MICE.BA.

This kind of referral carries weight. When a regional agency picks a partner from another country, they pick someone with a track record they trust.

The Panel

Organising a strong panel starts with the right people. For Smart Tourism 5.0, we engaged three panellists who together represented every level of the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  • Mili Bijavica, President of the Hospitality and Tourism Group at the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and owner of Fortuna Tours, represented the private sector;
  • Stjepan Primorac, President of the Herzegovina Tourism Cluster and President of the Tourism Association at the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of BiH, represented professional associations;
  • Ivan Jurilj, Director of the Office for European Integration of the West Herzegovina County Government and a strategist for tourism development in BiH, represented the government sector.

The panel was moderated by Josipa Terzić – Rezić, founder and CEO of MICE.BA. Moderating a professional panel in front of a regional audience of 900 participants requires sector knowledge and the ability to lead a conversation that delivers real value to the audience.

What We Delivered

We designed the BiH meetup programme and coordinated communication with all panellists. We promoted the event through a newsletter targeted at tourism professionals across the region. We prepared the participant list and managed communication with attendees ahead of the event.

In parallel, we ran PR activities: preparing media materials before the event and distributing press releases after it. Following the event, we conducted a follow-up with participants and panellists.

Online Conference Format in June 2020

June 2020 was a moment when the tourism industry was looking for answers. Borders were closed and the events industry was adapting in real time. MICE.BA adopted the online format as a genuine option for reaching a regional audience and delivered a programme that attracted participants from 15 countries.

The recording of the meetup is available on YouTube and stands as a record of the programme quality and the level of speakers engaged.

MICE.BA has been organising online and hybrid events since 2019. For international agencies looking for a local partner in Bosnia and Herzegovina who can deliver this type of programme, that experience is relevant.
